Accident and Emergency
If you suffer a serious injury or become very ill, a 999

NHS Walk-In Centre
The NHS Slough Walk-In Health Centre at Upton Hospital, Albert Street,
Slough is open every day for advice and information and
for treatment of minor injuries(such as strains and
sprains) and illnesses (such as coughs, colds and flu-like
symptoms). No appointment is needed. Opening hours
are 8am to 8pm seven days a week

Minor Injuries Unit
Heatherwood Hospital, London Road, Ascot
The Minor Injuries Unit at Heatherwood Hospital is now
open from 8am to 10pm everyday. If in doubt about
whether to use the Minor Injuries Unit they can be

The unit is staffed by highly trained Emergency Nurse
Practitioners who can treat or advise on the following:

Bites, stings and allergic reactions

Injuries to hands and feet

Cuts and bruises

Dislocated fingers and toes

Eye problems

Foreign bodies in the soft tissue

Fractures - arms and legs

Minor burns

Minor head injuries

Strains and sprains
Some injuries or conditions may require referral to other services. X-ray services. The Minor Injuries Unit is able to offer a limited x-ray service as follows: clavicle, shoulder, upper arm, elbow, forearm wrist, hand, fingers toes and lower legs.
Children under five.
The Minor Injuries Unit is able to see and treat children under five. But unable to provide antibiotics for them. The unit cannot provide an x-ray service for children under five years of age.
